Children's Sunday School
Children’s Sunday Morning Christian Education (10:10 a.m.)
The Sunday School at Trinity for children ages 3 through 5th grade uses the Growing in Grace and Gratitude curriculum from the Congregational Ministries Publishing. In addition to the the curriculum, 2nd and 3rd graders receive instruction on worship and the Bible as noted at the bottom of this page.
- 3-4 year old preschoolers through 3rd grade - Children 4 years old and under begin at 10:10 in their regular classrooms. Classroom designations are listed on the bulletin board outside each classroom in the education wing.
- 4th-5th grade - Sunday school classes are located off the main narthex near the coffee area. These classes will begin at 10:10 in the classroom.
On the second Sunday of each month the Sunday School children in grades 1 – 5 participate in a special music opening time in the Fellowship Hall. Classes will meet in their classrooms and go to the Fellowship Hall together to learn some new songs before returning to their classroom for the lesson.
Incoming preschoolers and children new to the Trinity Community must register for Sunday school using our new online registration or by completing the form in the church bulletin. You may also register using paper forms which will be available the first few weeks of Sunday school in your child’s classroom. We use the registration for health and safety issues. Please click here to register your child for Sunday school.

Childcare Ministry and Godly Play
Each Sunday between 8:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. our childcare staff care for our children under age 5. Many families who attend the 9:00 contemporary service choose to have their children in worship for the first song and Children's Message and then send them downstairs to the nursery with volunteers who meet them at the back of the contemporary worship space. Younger children are cared for in the church nursery. Our preschool children are led in Godly Play activities by our nursery coordinator, who is a trained Godly Play leader. Godly Play is a hands-on learning experience for young children that helps them understand the faith through play and creative activities.
Children should be picked up at the nursery (Room 1 and 2) or Godly Play (Room 11) by parents at the conclusion of the service.
Third Grade Bible Curriculum
As a part of our third grade Sunday School, children will spend time learning about the Bible. They will work on the books of the Bible, Bible drills, old testament, new testament, and much more.
Other Educational Opportunities for Children
Choirs and Wednesday Fellowship and Study
On Wednesday evenings, Trinity youth and children come together and share a meal around that evening’s choir schedule. You do not have to be a choir family to participate. Just let us know in the church office that you would like to come. On Wednesdays there are rehearsals for vocal and bell choirs for children of all ages. Check out our choir offerings in the Worship and Music section of the website.
Vacation Bible School
Trinity’s Vacation Bible School enrolls 120 children for a week of Christian fun, Bible study, and music. VBS involves many children from our preschool community and the wider Arlington community. Many adults and youth make VBS happen and get to know community families through this annual event.
Advent Workshop
On the first Sunday of Advent Trinity offers the Advent Workshop, which is a great opportunity for families to come together for crafts, refreshment and fellowship. Traditional advent wreaths from fresh evergreens and other crafts are created and then taken home or shared with someone else to spread Christ’s love at Christmas. Some crafts are limited so make sure you act quickly when the sign-up boards go up in early November. Even if you miss the sign-ups you can participate in the event. There will be crafts that are not limited in participation.
Eggstravaganza
On the Saturday of Easter weekend Trinity hosts this event for families of young children. Participants are invited to make crafts, to share in songs, and to join in the traditional Easter egg hunt. Trinity’s event also invites children to hear the Easter message and take away crafts to remind them of the joy of Easter day. Trinity’s Youth Group organizes the Easter Egg Hunt portion of the morning, while there are plenty of adults around to assist the children with crafts.
