ABOUT US

We welcome you.
As an inclusive community of faith, we celebrate that God’s love and grace extends to all, and affirm that each person has sacred worth just as they are. We celebrate people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
We are a PC(USA) church and Earth Care Congregation. We actively engage in social justice on our own and as members of VOICE (Virginians Organized for Interfaith Collective Engagement).

As people of Trinity Presbyterian Church, we are called to Faith through CONNECTING to others around us in meaningful ways, GROWING in our faith through opportunities to learn, and experiencing God’s presence through SERVING others in our daily lives.

Why Trinity?

Excellent question. We have a formal Vision and Mission Statement, (please click here to view it) but what does that Mission Statement look like in life?

At Trinity we:
  • Worship
in contemporary or traditional styles or online. During the pandemic, we have worshiped outside, inside, in the parking lot, on the lawn, in the outdoor chapel, and at home. Kind of like Visa, our worship is “everywhere you want to be.”

  • Connect
through small groups, service projects, mission trips, youth and young adult programs, the band or choir, and fellowship events. You know, church stuff.  But what does this mean at Trinity? We have coffee house concerts (live music, raffles for baskets of board games or tickets to the Nats,  lots of dessert), hikes, trivia or board game nights, all church picnics, retreats, chili cook-offs, visits to local establishments, art shows, fire pit gatherings, book and video guided discussions, and more.

  • Grow
with relevant and challenging classes. We don’t have all the answers and we thrive on questions. Dive into a Bible study or join a class about racial justice, religious art, or elderly care (to name a few).  One of our more popular recent classes was the Gospel According to Bruce Springsteen and one of our longest-running classes (due to student interest) was the study of the letters of Paul’s letters. Each semester is different and up to our congregation to lead and attend a class that interests them.  For our youngest community members and youth, we also have weekly Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible School.

  • Serve
our local and international community and discover your talents in a variety of ways: make breakfast for the homeless; paint and repair local homes; bring food to the elderly; raise the voices of the disenfranchised in Arlington;  go on a national or international mission trip; walk to end hunger; feed immigrants a warm dinner; and more.

This is just a taste of Trinity, please look around the website and let us know if your interested in learning more here.

Trinity Pictorial History

Trinity celebrated our 75th Anniversary in 2019.  As part of the celebration we put together photos from Trinity’s beginning through 2019. We invite you to scroll through the history of Trinity below.  This is a static timeline, just zoom in to see the details.
To look at the photos, please click on the link below and then double click on the first photo. It will open a slide show with comments about the photos. Enjoy!
We also have a new book on Trinity’s history, available in the office.
